Women, Power and the Global South

This course examines Women and Gender from the perspective of the Global South, that is, those regions of the world that have been historically disadvantaged by the global processes of capitalism and industrialization. We will use a decolonizing and transnational feminist lens to examine concepts of gender and sexuality, women's and feminists' political, social and historical struggles as well as engage the social and sociological insights of women theorists from these regions.
