Gender and Religion in Early Modern Spain

This course taught in Spanish focuses on Spanish literature and culture from the 15th to the 17th century. It provides an overall view of the principal works of literature as well as the artistic and philosophical background of their era, while connecting with contemporary issues such as religion, sexuality and gender violence. The course will enhance the student's appreciation of Spanish literature and culture through analysis, interpretation, discussion and evaluation of literary works.
