About the program/department/team

The Evidence in Governance and Politics (EGAP) research program is housed at the Department of Politics and Public Administration at Toronto Metropolitan University. EGAP is a research, evaluation, and learning network with worldwide reach that promotes rigorous knowledge accumulation, innovation, and evidence-based policy in various governance domains, including accountability, political participation, mitigation of societal conflict, and reducing inequality.  It does so by fostering academic-practitioner collaborations, developing tools and methods for analytical rigor, and training academics and practitioners alike, with an intensive focus in the Global South. The Evidence in Governance and Politics (EGAP) Program Manager will provide oversight to EGAP’s activities, including programmatic, financial and administrative aspects of the network. The candidate will work closely with EGAP’s global membership of researchers and practitioner organizations, as well as EGAP regional hub partners in West Africa and Latin America. The candidate is the primary point of contact at TMU, working with relevant departments on grant management, reporting and financial management, and other university-related tasks. The position will report to EGAP’s Executive Director and Professor of Politics at TMU, Daniel Rubenson.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, social science discipline preferred
  • Advanced degree in a relevant discipline preferred but not required

Additional Qualifications and/or Skills:

  • Ability to work with membership in a service-oriented manner
  • Ability to set and meet deadlines
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a wide variety of people at different levels of the University and with external stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications:

  • French or Spanish language skills
  • Experience working in a cross-cultural environment
