Digi Fab collab with Toolbox

Project Description

In the fall of 2021 we collaborated with Toolbox (external link)  to support the rollout of their Digi-Fab Collab (external link)  virtual programming and exhibition.

The Digi Fab Collab program is typically a hands-on, in-person maker program but was adapted to be virtual this year to cooperate with COVID-19 stay-at-home efforts. This shift challenged Toolbox to rethink thier design, fabrication, and manufacturing strategies to fit a world with disrupted global supply chains and social distancing in place.

Through collaborative research and design thinking processes, participants of the program each designed a component for a pegboard. When combined, they come together to support the unique at-home needs of an individual.

The LAB stepped in to provide digital fabrication support to bring participant's digital designs to life! Through a combination of CNC, 3D printing, vinyl cutting and laser cutting services, we were able to help Toolbox realize thier Digi Fab Collab creations.
