Andrew McWilliams.

Andrew McWilliams will take on the role of interim dean during David Cramb’s post-administrative leave.

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Andrew McWilliams as interim dean, Faculty of Science, effective July 1, 2023. Andrew will serve for the six-month duration of David Cramb’s post-administrative leave. David Cramb has been reappointed as dean, Faculty of Science and will begin his second term on January 1, 2024. I would like to thank Andrew for accepting this interim role and for his continued dedication to the Faculty of Science.

Andrew is an associate professor in the Faculty of Science’s Department of Chemistry and Biology, and is in his fifth year as chair of the department. He previously served as academic coordinator for chemistry and biology courses and programming at the G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education, and as academic coordinator in the First Year Science Office.

Actively involved at the university and within the greater academic community, Andrew has been a faculty member at TMU since 2003. He completed his second term as chair of the Faculty of Science Faculty Council in April, and is a member of the Senate Scholarly, Research and Creative (SRC) Activity Committee. His SRC activities focus on the development of new inorganic materials and the impact of technology on the process of teaching and learning in chemistry. From 2013 to 2022, he served as a member of TMU’s Senate, including three years as vice-chair. Andrew also represents TMU as a member of the Ontario Universities Council on Quality Assurance.

I would like to thank the Faculty of Science for their feedback during the consultation process and support for the appointment of Andrew in this interim role.
