In the past year and a half, about 30,000 people have arrived at the Canadian-U.S. border at unofficial border crossings, seeking asylum. This has led to some sounding the alarm that Canada has a “refugee crisis.” Anver Saloojee joins host Melissa Yu Vanti to share his perspective on asylum seekers at the Canadian-U.S. border, and why it is critical that we reframe the way we engage in these topics. You’ll also learn about the 4th annual World Cities, World Class (WC2) Symposium, which Ryerson is hosting from August 12 to 17.
