Rent is $805/month for current Ryerson students, and $850/month for any students enrolled in a post-secondary institution and participating a summer co-op/ internship can stay—this price includes internet, hydro, and all utilities!

Lease from May 7th to August 20th, 2022. Monthly option available!

Pitman Hall residence is located in downtown Toronto. Close proximity to the Financial district and less than a ten minute walk to Dundas subway station, the Eaton Centre shopping mall and many major tourist attractions.

Summer Residence for Ryerson Students

Pitman Hall  (PIT): Single Room in Apartment

Average Room Size: 11m2 / 118ft2

PIT features single bedrooms with individual bathroom and kitchenette in an apartment. This is the only available room type for 2022 Summer residence. Every floor has a common lounge with cable television, and laundry facilities.

Students will be assigned to an apartment to share the bathroom and kitchen with one other student in order to observe a ratio of two students to one washroom in Pitman Hall.

As the city’s emergency response and restrictions change, we may modify capacity in our residences.

The term length for Summer residence is May 7 to August 20, 2022.

The 4-months housing applications receive priority.

Monthly option available! Single-month housing applications will begin to receive offers on and after March 10, 2022. Please indicate your intended rental period on the application accurately. 

Pay the $50 non-refundable application fee on RAMSS within one week to complete the application. 

This $50 application will be applied to the first month rent.

Room rent includes internet, hydro and all utilities.

Rent period starts from the first day to the last day of the month.

Resident is responsible in paying half month rent if arriving during the 3rd and 4th week (after the 14th day of the month). 

  • Application fee is $50 and is due when applying.
  • The first month room rent is due on April 1, 2022.
  • The subsequent rent will be due on the 1st day of every month on RAMSS.
  • Apply the application fee of $50 towards the first month rent.
  • A $50 late fee applies if rent is overdue for 5 days.

  1. Submit an Application Request
    The 2022 Summer Residence Application will be available in January 2022.

  2. Application Fee
    An application fee of $50 is due on RAMSS upon application. 
    The application is considered complete only if the application fee is paid within one week. 

  3. Offer of Accommodation
    Once application fee is received, student will receive an offer of accommodation pending if spaces are available.

Roomate Request 

If you know a person who has submitted to stay under the Summer residence whom you would like to request as roommate, you can list their name under roommate request when submitting the application. 
  • Ensure the other person has also submitted their Summer residence application and listed you under roommate request on their application

You can only request up to one roommate at this time in order to observe a ratio of two students to one washroom in Pitman Hall.

 

There are different cancellations/withdrawal fees depending on the time a student chooses to cancel/withdraw.

  • Application Cancellations prior to May 7, 2022 - students will forfeit the $50 non-refundable application fee.

  • Residence Withdrawal between May 7, 2021 and May 14, 2022 - students are subject to the $400 withdrawal fee.

  • Residence Withdrawals (in the first seven days of the month) - students are subject to the $400 withdrawal fee and rent for any previous months lived in residence - not including the current month.

  • Residence Withdrawals (after the seventh day of the month) - students are subject to the $400 withdrawal fee, the current month's rent, and rent for any previous months lived in residence.

 

The Residence Agreement is a legal document that you must read and agree on before moving into residence. It covers important information about residence such as move-in, and move-out dates, application deadlines and instructions, and fee deadlines.

The Agreement below is valid for 2020-21. As soon as the 2022-23 Agreement is available, accepted residents will be emailed for acknowledgement. Residents must accept the Agreement before moving in.

Community Standards

The Residence Community Standards set out clear expectations of acceptable behaviour within the residence community and the consequences for behaviour that is contrary to these expectations.

In order to slow the spread of COVID-19, Housing and Residence Life will be restricting guest access to buildings for the foreseeable future. Students will be permitted to have two guests assist them with their move in process on their designated move in day.

Overnight guests are not permitted at this time. Housing and Residence Life continues to monitor all public health regulations related to COVID-19 and will update students of any changes to our guest policy throughout the Summer.

Students who have concerns about the guest policy are encouraged to connect with the Housing office.

Co-op Housing for Co-op Students

A $200 non-refundable rent deposit is required within one week after the application is accepted. 

The deposit will be used towards the last month's room rent. 

Room rent includes internet, hydro and all utilities.

Rent period starts from the first day to the last day of the month.

Resident is responsible in paying half month rent if arriving during the 3rd and 4th week (after the 14th day of the month). 

  • Rent deposit is $200 and is due at acceptance.
  • The first month room rent is due on April 1,2022 online via the online payment portal (link to be provided in the email)
  • The subsequent rent will be due on the 1st day of every month online  the online payment portal (link to be provided in the email)
  • Apply the rent deposit of $200 towards the last month rent. 
  • A $50 late fee applies if rent is overdue for 5 days.

    Co-op spaces are offered on a first come, first serve basis. Please allow up to 7 business days for processing. 

  3. Deposit
    When your application is accepted, an acceptance letter with payment link and due date will be sent to you for rent deposit.

    The application is considered complete only if the deposit is received before the due date.

  4. Offer of Accommodation
    Once rent deposit is received, student will receive an offer of accommodation.
