Given her English background, she is confident writing pretty much anything and is happiest when doing any type of content-creation. Over the last several years, Eleanor has relished opportunities for professional and academic development, taking on leadership and mentor roles in her community and workplace. She has worked for several small businesses doing brand development, social media and e-commerce management. This experience allowed Eleanor the chance to hone her writing abilities as a content creator and social media strategist, fostering a pre-existing interest and appreciation for the role digital media and digital story telling play in branding today. Previously, she worked in the financial sector doing project management and business analysis. Through her experience, both academically and in her career, she has a cultivated a diverse skillset, which includes, but is not limited to, teaching, researching, event planning, editing, and writing. Not only does Eleanor have an insatiable entrepreneurial spirit and drive to create and innovate, she also has the tools necessary to communicate her big ideas and get the ball rolling on collaborative initiatives.

Why Digital Media?

A Masters of Digital Media, to me, is the best way I can build on existing skills while developing new skills that will propel me into the future she has been working towards. I am excited by the potential to share and build my strengths with others while learning more about Canada’s rapidly shifting digital landscape. I’m ready to deep dive into new fields, to test my ideas in a nurturing environment, and to find practical applications for my skills. From marketing to strategizing to researching; I am very exciting about prospect of learning from others in a team setting while creating sustainable sources of profit for business using creative, digital methods. My goals for the year include: getting really creative, pushing myself out of my comfort zone, and hopefully launching my very own start-up.
