Biography:

A long term academic, Meghan has a love of reading, learning and research. She explores topics with gusto, including literature, critical theory, journalism, communication studies, ethics and now, digital media. She explores her passions through photography, sound design and creative writing and enjoys synthesizing research and presenting it in interesting and digestible ways.

Why Digital Media?

In her Masters of Digital Media, Meghan has taken her personal fascination with radicalization and modern white supremacy and put it under the microscope with her academic research. She is particularly interested in how irony and humour are weaponized in online alt-right communities and how their indoctrination tactics work, specifically now that these communities exist more online than as in-person groups, like the Klan. She will be exploring these topics through her new found interest in coding and creating an interactive experience around online indoctrination.
