Why Digital Media?

After working 5 years in the news industry, I realized that traditional media’s influence has drastically declined. With the rapid rise and expansion of digital media in the past few years, people spend much less time watching TV or reading newspapers than before. Even though many media have been striving to expand online platforms, the content and style of news reports have not changed much to adapt to the digital era, and still, the audience keeps decreasing. It leads me to the question: How should messages be conveyed in the fast-changing media world? How can I prepare myself to adapt to this world? Therefore I decided to step out of my comfort zone and embark on a new journey here in Toronto, seeking the answer to my questions through the MDM program.
