I am pleased to announce Cory Searcy as vice-provost and dean of The Yeates School of Graduate Studies (YSGS). In his various roles at YSGS, Cory has consistently driven the school’s priorities forward with enthusiasm.

Notably, Cory led the creation of Ryerson’s Graduate Scholarship (RGS) Awards and helped to coordinate the efforts to meet the year’s graduate enrolment targets. In the last several months, he has also continued progress on YSGS's Indigenous framework, advanced new program development, and planned for the occupancy and animation of the new space for interdisciplinary graduate students in the Daphne Cockwell Health Sciences Complex.

Prior to his role as interim dean, Cory was associate dean, programs, YSGS, where he played a critical role in building a community and culture of inquiry, elevating excellence in graduate education, attracting and retaining outstanding graduate student talent, and delivering leading academic and administrative supports and services.

An active researcher, Cory studies corporate sustainability indicators, sustainability reporting and sustainable supply chain management, and has been published in several leading academic journals, including the Journal of Cleaner Production, the Journal of Business Ethics, and the International Journal of Production Economics.

Cory is also a professor of industrial engineering and former graduate program director for the interdisciplinary Environmental Applied Science and Management program. He holds a BSc and an MSc from the University of Manitoba, as well as a PhD from the University of Alberta.

Please join me in thanking Cory for his ongoing leadership within YSGS and in wishing him continued success in the years ahead.
