Collaborations with non-profit organizations, charitable foundations and industry empower Ryerson researchers to pursue a broad range of projects, products and processes. In 2017–18, Ryerson received $22.8 million from our industry and community partners, cementing synergies that enrich the fabric of Canadian lives through economic, healthcare, scientific and/or social benefits.

Cheri Bradish (Business Management) will connect the latest in sport industry research and insights to sport business education via a new ecosystem anchored in sport innovation and created through the shared vision of Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment Ltd. and Ryerson University.

Trevor Hart (Psychology) received support from the Canadian Blood Services MSM Research Grant program to lead a large-scale national study of men who have sex with men (MSM) donor policies. Utilizing biobehavioural and mathematical modelling, the investigators will estimate HIV risk probabilities on Canada’s blood supply. The cross-sectional initiative marks the first time a Canadian Blood Services MSM Research Grant has been awarded to a Ryerson researcher.

Darko Joksimovic (Civil Engineering) received support from the Toronto Waterfront Revitalization Corporation to lead a research team that investigated redevelopment of Toronto’s waterfront, the impact development could have on the area’s water systems and aquatic and terrestrial habitats, and methods of efficiently offsetting potable water demand.
