DriftChair

Experimental Project

Drift Chair is reminiscent of a classic recliner, specifically the Adirondack or Muskoka Chair. Despite it’s classic geometry and organic aesthetic, Drift was fabricated using digital techniques and machinery, including 3D modelling, laser cutting and CNC milling. As its name suggests, Drift is an ode to the driftwood that washes up on the shores of Ontario’s lakes. This chair demonstrates digital fabrication reinterpreting a classic design and organic materials.
