Flow Winterstations

Experimental Project

Flow proposes a self-organizing architecture achieved through aggregation. A simple module has been engineered and fabricated in the form of a three-dimensional star to encourage local interconnection. When hundreds or thousands of the base elements are combined, they create a stable but easily demountable structure. In combination with other natural and engineered systems, the resulting spaces and enclosures take on distinct organic forms. The designers have been experimenting with many aspects of the formation of these structures, including shape, density, structure and interaction with users.
