Shelter of Four

Experimental Project

Shelter of Four provides shelter while simultaneously preserving views and connections to the outside world. The patterned perforations on each layer are based on the arba’s minim: four species of plants mentioned in the Torah in relation to Sukkot. Interpretations of the symbolism of the four species include the desire to unite the four types of Jews, the parts of the human body, and the plants used in the construction of a traditional sukkah.
