Ash Mulekar

Computer Science and Startup Consulatant

Ash is a graduate in Computer Science from the University of British Columbia. He has been in the startup world since he graduated from University. He taught himself iphone programming during his free time while in co-op and built an app which showcased menus, ingredients and photos of Vancouver restaurants, before Uber and Doordash were a thing.

He worked in several companies in Toronto after graduation, specializing in Data and Analytics. His experience ranges from starting as a Data Engineer in Rogers where he built their reporting stack for CFL games, to Telus where he was a part of the Big Data Team and then to Financial Risk Analytics at Scotiabank. He then made a jump from Corporate to startups by joining an AI startup in Toronto and then moving to a crypto startup where he led the Data and Analytics Team. He is currently a part of the Data & AI Strategy Team at Scotiabank. Ash is well versed in Cloud Computing, Marketing Analytics, Financial Analytics and Data Strategy.

Ash also took a sabbatical from work in 2021 and established a natural-materials packaging company as an alternative to plastics and is currently also tinkering with Drones and Computer Vision Technology.

Before his education at UBC, Ash travelled and worked throughout Europe and has working knowledge of Spanish, French, German and four dialects from India.
