CCS supports all Lexmark laser printers. In the following table a selection of recommended printers are provided for comparison. For advice regarding printer selection, contact the Hardware Advice Line at ext. 554544.

Due to the infrastructure and security of the Ryerson network, a wireless printer will not connect to the Ryerson wireless network.

Please note that only Lexmark printers, that are using PCL as the printer language, are supported for OGF printing. Printers that DO NOT SUPPORT OGF printing.

If the majority of your printing will not be colour, then it is highly recommended that a monochrome laser printer also be purchased.  This will save money as the cost of colour printing is higher per page, as are the replacement parts.

Also note the use of 3rd party or refilled toners with these printers is not recommended. Any problem caused by their use is not covered by the Manufacturer's warranty and the customer will be charged for the replacement parts. Visit the Lexmark site for information on how to make sure the toner you are buying is Genuine Lexmark.

If you decide to continue using 3rd party or refilled toners in your printer. CCS will charge $75.00 per hour to clean the printer caused by toner spilling into it. This charge will be added to any costs for replacement parts.

Lexmark has monthly specials, for more information contact the CCS Hardware support line (x554544) or contact Ryerson Purchasing department.

CCS supports all Dell LCD Monitor, external link models.  Most Dell LCD monitors have a standard 3-year warranty.  See  PDF fileHardware Price List for Dell quote numbers

Please note the E and S series of monitors have fewer features, some models may not have a DVI connection or USB ports.

Dell also has a series of LCD monitors that are referred to as All-In-One. This series is made for use with the SFF (Small Form Factor) and USFF (Ultra Small Form Factor) computers. The All-In-One has a cradle that is part of the display stand which holds the computer. The video cables, that come with the display are very short, only about 12 inches. Unless you are going to use the SFF or USFF Optiplex computer with the All-In-One, do not order this series of monitors.

Please ensure the monitor you are purchasing supports the input connections (ie. DVI, VGA, etc.) that your computer provides and that you have the appropriate cables.  If you have any questions please contact the Hardware Help Line at ext. 554544.
