As the school year draws to a close, we invite all self-identified Black students and TMU community members to join Community Safety and Security for a light-hearted event with games, food, music and prizes. Get to know our team and learn how we strive to support Black students, faculty and staff and the entire TMU community through the services we offer.

In the spirit of Black flourishing, we hope that this event can offer a space for meaningful connection and help build a stronger sense of community and relationship between Black students and Community Safety and Security.

Complimentary food from Scotty Bons will be provided.

More about this event

In 2020, the Office of the Vice-President, Equity and Community Inclusion released the  (PDF file) Anti-Black Racism Campus Climate Review Report (2020). The report included a student recommendation for campus safety and security to be prioritized to positively impact Black student belonging, with security trained in equity, diversity and inclusion.

The Black Students x TMU Security Mixer is one way, among a broader strategy, Community Safety and Security is working to build trust, confront anti-Black racism and help cultivate Black flourishing at TMU.
