Minor in French

This minor presents an excellent opportunity to acquire the necessary language and cultural skills to be able to use French as part of your academic and career plans.

Based on the results of their online placement test, students will be advised to enrol in any of the courses below. It must be noted that many language courses build on the learning of previous courses; therefore, it is difficult, if not impossible, for students to take more than one FRE course per semester.

To receive this Minor, students must complete six (6) courses from the following curriculum:

Students interested in pursuing a minor in French should consult with the Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures early in their studies. To achieve a minor in French, planning is key.
