GCM Student Internships

Internships are a mentoring relationship between the employer and a third year student. These paid positions begin at the end of April and continue until the end of August. Many students continue their internships on a part-time basis during the fall when school recommences, if the employer wishes.

Full details about GCM's internship program can be  (PDF file) found in the Internship Handbook.

Frequently Asked Questions

Interns must complete a minimum of 300 hours.

Most interns start their work in May and work full-time until August. In many cases employers choose to keep interns on a part-time basis during their final year of studies.

At the Career Fair you will get to meet many potential candidates in one day thanks to the short interview format (12 minutes for grads, 10 minutes for interns). Most employers then set up second interviews with candidates of interest.

With 60+ employers attending, we are managing over 1,000 interview slots that day. In order to make sure you have the most accurate and up to date information, a list of candidates will be provided to you on the day of the Career Fair.

We leave the next step of the recruitment process to you. Some students are hired on the spot and while others are invited to attend a second round of interviews. If you have filled a position, we ask that you send a courtesy email to students who showed interest in the position but were not selected for the role.

Congratulations! Once an intern has accepted the offer, the onus is on the student to contact the school about their employment so that we can update their status and make arrangements for a site visit.
