Meet the Team

As part of the Centre for Excellence in Learning and Teaching the Digital Learning team supports the planning and development of the strategic direction of technology-enabled teaching and learning at Toronto Metropolitan University. The team is charged with supporting technology-enabled learning, including blended learning initiatives across the university, engaging and consulting with the university community, and advancing approaches for effective and pedagogically sound integration of educational technologies. The team is comprised of instructional designers, instructional technologists, and students.

Curtis Maloley
Curtis Maloley, Director, Teaching Development and Digital Learning

Curtis Maloley is the Director, Teaching Development and Digital Learning in the Centre for Excellence in Learning and Teaching. He has been teaching at TMU for over 10 years in the RTA School of Media, the Department of Sociology, and The Chang School. Curtis is the recipient of a President's Blue and Gold Award, an Alan Shepard Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Award, and a Dean's Teaching Award. He sits as a non-Indigenous member of the Aboriginal Education Council (AEC) and Provost's TRC Strategic Working Group, and co-hosts Podagogies: A Learning and Teaching Podcast.

Nada Savicevic is an Educational Developer/Instructional Design, Digital Learning at Toronto Metropolitan University. She works with faculty and instructors on the design and development of blended courses that support active learning using best technology-enhanced instructional practices and learning technologies. She also teaches Graphic Design and Design for Mobile Devices in the Arts and Media Program, G. Raymond Chang School. Nada holds a Master of Arts in Interactive Design & Game Development from Savannah College of Art and Design, a Master of Architecture and a Bachelor of Engineering in Architecture from the University of Belgrade.

Sally Goldberg Powell is the Instructional Technologist, Digital Learning at Toronto Metropolitan University. She works on the design and development of multimedia learning materials for blended and online education and leads production for Digital Learning projects. She also teaches in the School of Journalism. Previously, Sally was part of RSJ’s technical support team specializing in visual storytelling through video, graphics, motion graphics, and infographic design. From 2018 to 2019, she was also involved in designing and producing several FCAD e-Learning initiatives. Sally holds a Bachelor of Journalism from Carleton University and a Bachelor of Applied Arts from the RTA School of Media.

David Arromba is a Learning Design Specialist at the Centre for Excellence in Learning and Teaching, where he supports the design, development, and implementation of technology-enhanced learning experiences for blended and online courses. Previously, David worked with the inaugural cohort of the Blended Learning Lab initiative and supported faculty and staff with learning technologies in the Faculty of Community Services. David holds a Master of Education from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education and a Bachelor of Arts from Western University.

Youdon Tenzin
Youdon Tenzin, Communication and Production Assistant

Youdon Tenzin is a fourth-year student in Toronto Metropolitan University's School of Journalism. She has experience in writing, communications and photography. As a Communication and Production Assistant at the Centre for Excellence in Learning and Teaching, she assists the team with writing, production and working within the Adobe Suite. She is excited to enhance her communication and multimedia skills while helping to improve online student learning.

Vanessa Tiberio is a second-year student at the School of Journalism. She has experience in video production, editing, graphic design, and communication. As a Video and Multimedia Production Assistant for the Centre of Excellence and Learning, Vanessa utilizes her skillsets to produce multimedia content within the Adobe Creative Cloud. She is a dedicated learner who seeks to expand her knowledge and skillsets for use in the world of media. Vanessa looks forward to enhancing student education as a part of the Digital Learning team.
