I received my BSc in Biology and BEd in Elementary Education from the University of Victoria (UVic) and after several years of elementary school teaching in British Columbia and London, UK, I returned to UVic and completed my MA in Curriculum Studies. I completed my PhD in Curriculum Studies and Teacher Development at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto (OISE/UT). Prior to joining the School of Early Childhood Studies at Toronto Metropolitan University in Fall 2015, I worked in the Educational Studies Department at Monmouth College in Monmouth, IL and taught courses in mathematics foundations, elementary mathematics teaching methods, and elementary science teaching methods.
