Class Descriptions
All classes include a warm-up, core conditioning, cardiovascular conditioning, and a stretch component unless otherwise indicated.
Programs listed below are offered periodically throughout the year. Please refer to the schedule above for current program times.
Class Name | Description |
---|---|
Barre Bootcamp | This class is dance meets bootcamp using a variety of dance movements with Pilates style exercises, stretch bands and hand weights to strengthen and lengthen your body while burning fat and working your optimum fitness level. With a strong emphasis on posture and alignment, improving balance, grace and coordination, Barre Bootcamp will have you sweating and moving to high energy and new music! |
BodyART | BodyART is a fusion of yoga, pilates, Qi Gong and Martial Arts and it is bases on the ancient wisdom of the Traditional Chinese Medicine. |
Bodyweight Workout | This class is designed to help build strength and endurance through circuit training, cardio exercises and body weight exercises. It finishes with core training and stretching for a complete workout. |
Body Flow | One of the qualities of the water in the liquid form is fluidity. Our bodies are 70% water, meaning that it is our natural way of moving. We will reconnect with our innate body wisdom through the flow of the movement. Our various types of breath will be at the foundation of our movement and the music will be our inspiration. Rooted in the ancient traditions, the fluid, gentle movements will create ease in our mind, body, heart and soul. |
BoxFIRE | An action-packed workout that combines a series of punching and kicking combinations based on Taekwondo and Kickboxing principles. This class improves strength, muscle tone, coordination and endurance. |
Cardio Pump | Periods of intense cardio work are alternated with “active recovery” in the form of resistance based exercises to strengthen muscles! This class uses every valuable second to keep you moving, burning calories and toning the entire body! |
Dance Fire | The NON-STOP dance fitness workout that combines easy to follow steps to today's hottest music, while infusing bursts of high intensity interval training, resistance training and core conditioning to make you not only have fun, but transform your body to see real RESULTS! |
Dance Journey | Enjoy and learn the variety of dance genres, flavours, traditions and styles as they were from the inception and throughout their journey to the present days and …may be… even in the future… Playful, educational, fun, exhilarating, discovery, unknown, suspense… all and more on rhythm and the Sound of Music. |
Diva Train | Diva Train is a women's only body conditioning class using only your body weight. It combines HIIT with feel good music leaving you feeling sweaty and empowered from the inside out! Are you on the Diva Train? |
GrooveFIT | GrooveFIT is a fusion of dance and fitness bringing the beauty of various music genres to enhance the style of the moves while having fun and intense working out. |
Hatha Yoga | This foundational yoga style is believed to be the original source of most modern yoga styles. Hatha Yoga is a more traditional style that uses classical yoga postures and stretches with focus on alignment and breath to develop flexibility and relaxation. Breathing, meditation techniques, and guided imagery may also be taught. Excellent for participants who appreciate longer holds in individual postures and prefer a slower and more meditative approach. A great choice for beginners and intermediate participants. |
HIIT | “High Intensity Interval Training” is all the rage! HIIT is a form of interval training, a cardiovascular exercise strategy alternating short periods of intense anaerobic exercise with less intense recovery periods - a great all-in-one workout! |
Morning Yoga | Join us for a morning yoga routine to help wake your body and mind - no better way to start off the day! |
Stretch n' Flex | Regular stretching builds both strength and flexibility, helping our bodies to stay healthy. And the fact is, most of us do not take the time to stretch. Consider this class a sort of active meditation where you can focus on your body and your breath, as we stretch everything from the head to the toes. Stretching is relaxing and energizing at the same time! You’ll feel taller, looser, and lighter! This class is for all levels and all bodies. |
TMC | Total Muscle Conditioning with many training tools to choose from! This is a full body strengthening class including the core. Training tools vary class to class to ensure variety, keep your muscles guessing and to prevent boredom. Tools can include: the Lebert Equalizer, dumbbells, body bars, tubing, stability balls, steps, mats and/or bodyweight. |
Vinyasa Yoga | Vinyasa yoga focuses on continuous movement, but more importantly matching movement with breath. The pace can vary in this style of yoga but it is often faster with sound progression from basic to complex. Emphasis is placed on moving in and out of postures safely, correct alignment and connecting these movements with the breath. The continual movements from one pose to another gives one an added cardiovascular benefit, creates heat and sweat to help release toxins in the body. A favourite among intermediate and advanced participants or participants whom have difficulty with slower paced yoga styles; however Vinyasa yoga is also incredibly adaptable for all levels. |
