In anticipation of the 2023 Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) Innovation Fund (IF) Call for Proposals, the Office of the Vice-President, Research and Innovation is pleased to announce four information sessions. CFI hopes to officially release the information by the end of the month. Due to the approaching summer holidays, we have decided to launch prior to all information being known; updates will be provided as they become available from CFI.

The IF competition provides an opportunity to secure significant funding for new research space and equipment. This is your opportunity to develop a large transformative proposal, with a minimum proposal size of a CFI ask of ~$2 million, to enhance research capacity in an important area of our  (PDF file) Strategic Research Plan.

This session on July 5 is the fourth of four identical Zoom information sessions to maximize attendance. The sessions are targeted to researchers and administrators who would like to know more about the large research infrastructure competition, and Ryerson’s internal competition and submission process.

Session # 1: Tuesday, June 29 [from 10 am to 11:30 am]
Session # 2: Tuesday, June 29 [from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm]
Session # 3: Wednesday, June 30 [from 10:00 am to 11:30 am]
Session # 4: Monday, July 5 [from 9:00 am to 10:30 am]

The sessions will cover the following:
· The Innovation Fund program: objectives, eligible costs, evaluation criteria,
anticipated due dates, etc.
· Ryerson’s internal competition and application form.
· Key characteristics of a successful proposal.
· Analysis of the last competition.
· An informal Q and A period and opportunity for discussion.
