TMU seeks community input for new Strategic Research Plan
Feedback from TMU’s community is integral to creating a new Strategic Research Plan reflective of our SRC excellence and impact.
The TMU community is invited to participate in developing the university’s 2025–2030 Strategic Research Plan (SRP). By joining the conversation, you’ll help inform TMU’s vision for strategic research planning over the next five years. The Strategic Research Plan is required for Tri-Agency funding and is used internally to highlight areas identified as institutional strengths and TMU’s unique approach to scholarly, research and creative (SRC) activity.
There are multiple ways to provide feedback, making it easy for members of the SRC community to contribute to the development of the Strategic Research Plan. The first phase of the Office of the Vice-President, Research and Innovation’s (OVPRI) university-wide consultation process will include three general Town Halls – one in-person and two virtual. There will also be ten virtual Focus Group sessions, inviting faculty members and other stakeholders, as well as an online feedback form.
Engagement sessions are scheduled on different days and times beginning February 21 and running until the end of March 2024. Members of TMU’s community are welcome to register for any session they wish to attend.
“The Strategic Research Plan highlights our institutional strengths. It showcases the excellence and growth of our scholarly, research and creative (SRC) activities. The 2025–2030 Strategic Research Plan will provide the foundation for our focus and strategy for our institutional SRC priorities over the next five years," stated Steven N. Liss, TMU’s vice-president, research and innovation.
“We encourage the TMU SRC community to offer their input through the town halls, focus groups or online feedback form,” said Naomi Adelson, chair of the steering committee and associate vice-president, research and innovation. “Feedback is essential to creating a Strategic Research Plan that is reflective of TMU’s SRC strengths.”
