Scholarships & Awards
Each year, TRSM presents awards and scholarships to students who excel in academics, leadership, volunteer and community engagement. These awards are presented at the annual Awards Ceremony which takes place on November 30th, 2020.

Students from the School of Retail Management are eligible to apply for the program-specific awards below as well as faculty-wide, and university-wide awards.

H & M believes that success is built on creativity, innovation and excitement of making immediate impact. Every team member, whatever their role, is encouraged to look for opportunity and take initiative that sets the business in motion. To be eligible for this award students must submit a short (250-500 words) written statement about your leadership and initiative in retail through work experience or extra-curricular involvement, be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student in the Ted Rogers School of Retail Management with clear academic standing and demonstrate financial need.
For a student entering first year with the highest average in 6 best grade 12 U/M courses; renewable for 3 years upon maintaining a 3.00 GPA.
For students entering first year with the second highest average in 6 best grade 12 U/M courses & demonstrate the potential to succeed in retail; renewable for 3 years upon maintaining a 3.00 GPA.
To be eligible for this award students must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person, must be an Ontario resident, must demonstrate financial need, demonstrate a minimum high school average of 75% or more in their final year of high school. Must submit an application letter of 500 words outlining their commitment to the field of Retail Management and budget form. The award will be renewed through the four years of study if the student continues to achieve a minimum CGPA of 3.00 with no failing grades as a Retail Management major with clear academic standing.
Based on a combination of average of 6 best Grade 12 U/M courses or Ryerson CGPA, outstanding potential to succeed in the retail industry and clear academic standing in 1st semester.

To a student who demonstrates strong innovative and entrepreneurial initiative in the Issues and Innovations course; Canadian citizen/permanent resident; Ontario resident; demonstrated financial need.
Awarded to two students who are Canadian citizens, permanent residents; protected persons; Ontario residents; demonstrate financial need; enrolled full-time in the Retail Management program; have completed second year (1 award) or third year (1 award); have clear academic standing; minimum CGPA of 3.00 after their last completed year; know and have exposure to the shopping centre industry; demonstrate a strong commitment to the field of retail management and the shopping centre sector through internships and/or work experience.
For excellence in sports and high academic standing, 3.0 or higher.
For obtaining a GPA of 3.00 or higher and demonstrated ability, interest and/or motivation to succeed in the Retail Industry.
Fourth-year students only; GPA of 3.50 or greater; demonstrated financial need; letter outlining passion for the retail industry, relevant work experience & academic/career aspirations; Canadian citizen/permanent resident; Ontario resident.
To a student with a minimum GPA of 3.00 or final high school grades with a minimum average of 75% who have demonstrated ability, interest and/or motivation to succeed in the Retail Industry.
To a student of the Ted Rogers School of Retail Management program with a minimum GPA of 3.00 or final high school grades with a minimum average of 75% who demonstrate the ability, interest and/or motivation to succeed in the retail industry. The award is intended to recognize & reward one student each year. However if the selection committee deems two students to be equally deserving, then the award may be split and awarded to two recipients.
To be eligible for this award, a student must be registered as a full-time undergraduate student in the Ted Rogers School of Management, have a clear academic standing and achieve the highest grade in Service Quality Management (RMG303).
For students demonstrating excellence in creative solutions for retail business challenges as exemplified in the Retail Strategy course case studies. The award is intended to recognize & reward one student each year. However if the selection panel deems two students to be equally deserving, then the award may be split equally and awarded to two recipients.
For outstanding potential to succeed in the Retail Industry with a minimum GPA of 3.00 or final high school grades with a minimum average of 75%. The award is intended to recognize & reward one student each year. However, if the selection committee deems two students to be equally deserving, then the award may be split and awarded to two recipients
To one third-year undergraduate student in good academic standing who is enrolled in GEO419 Geodemographics; Canadian citizen/permanent resident; Ontario resident; demonstrated financial need.
For academic achievement with a minimum GPA of 3.00 and a 250 word essay required on what their career goals will be upon graduating.
For highest grades in Retail Buying courses with a minimum GPA of 3.00.
Student must have completed at least 20 credits in the Retail Management program; currently enrolled as a full-time student in the program, have a clear academic standing; achieved a minimum CGPA of 2.50; demonstrates a commitment to the School via student group(s) or volunteering for events hosted by the School.
First or second year student demonstrating excellence in leadership and contribution to quality of student life.

To be considered for scholarships with additional or special requirements please be sure to address the specified criteria in your application and highlight key accomplishments from your retail experience(s) and/or your academic career. These might include:
- Volunteering Experience,
- Ryerson Community Engagement,
- Achievements in Sports,
- Interest in specific fields like Shopping Centre management,
- Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Leadership,
- Potential to Succeed in the Retail Industry,
- Any Other Experience Relevant to your Field of Study.

Dean's List
To be eligible for consideration for the Dean’s List, students must:
- Have an minimum GPA average of 3.50 or higher for the academic year (for both the Fall and Winter terms. Spring and Summer terms are never included).
- Be carrying an average unit load of 4.0 courses for both the Fall and Winter terms.
- Have a clear academic standing.
- They cannot have any final F grades or have received any Disciplinary Notices (DN) while at Ryerson.
