Balancing Ryerson's Operating Budget
Ryerson continues to work within the provincial government’s parameters to balance the university’s operating budget.
Promoting access to a high-quality post-secondary education is an important institutional value, and as expressed in our 2020-25 Academic Plan, we remain committed to funding activities that allow us to be bold in our thinking, actions and decisions.
Balancing the budget is a complex task that requires input from our academic and administrative leaders, as well as the broader Ryerson community. Our open and consultative budget process gave students, faculty and staff the opportunity to engage with senior administration on our 2021-22 budget plans in a public forum.
Thank you for your ongoing commitment to Ryerson and for taking part in this important process.

At Ryerson, we adhere to five guiding principles when preparing the annual budget:
- Prioritize students
- Protect Ryerson’s core business
- Be fair and transparent
- Remain forward looking
- Conduct wide consultations with the community
