Opportunities for emerging scholars to hone their research skills.


The CERC in Migration and Integration supports graduate students and emerging research scholars with research training opportunities.  Migration Research Gyms provide specialized methodology and professional development training through intensive workshops. The small class setting emphasizes mentorship and hands-on learning.

Our June workshops are being adapted to an online format.  Register early to find out how you can particpate.

The CERC in Migration and Integration program is hosting webinars to investigate the extraordinary challenges that migrant populations are facing as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Migration Working Group

The Migration Working Group series provides researchers with the opportunity to present their ongoing projects, learn about each other’s work and share feedback. Discussions are moderated by Prof. Anna Triandafyllidou, the Canada Excellence Research Chair in Migration and Integration.

Our May Migration Working Group meeting will now be held online.  

We are optimistic that our June 18 meeting will proceed in person.  Please register so that we can keep in touch with you should we move to an online format.

Migration 2030: Challenges and Opportunities for Canada and the World

The Migration 2030 conference launched Ryerson’s Canada Excellence Research Chair (CERC) in Migration and Integration into a critical conversation on the outlook for migration for the next decade. Over our two-day conference, we examined the challenges and concerns surrounding the governance of migration in Canada and around the globe from the perspective of both academics and stakeholders.

This conference took place February 20-21, 2020.
