Call for Papers

DEADLINE EXTENDED TO: June 19, 2021

The CERC in Migration and Integration invites paper abstract submissions for its Migration Working Group series for 2021-2022. The series provides researchers with the opportunity to present their ongoing projects, learn about each other’s work and share feedback.

Our Migration Working Group sessions will be held every last Tuesday of the month starting September 2021 until May 2022.

We invite submissions of work in progress that you would like to present and discuss with an interdisciplinary group of scholars and graduate students.

Please send to cerc.migration@torontomu.ca by June 19, 2021:

• A one-page paper abstract (approx. 400 words) outlining your research question, methodology and expected findings, and
• A 300-word biographical note

You will be notified about the acceptance and scheduling of your paper by June 30, 2021.

We welcome papers with both quantitative and qualitative methodological approaches that relate to any of our thematic areas or that focus on issues of data and methodology.

We recognize the special circumstances that the COVID-19 pandemic presents. We anticipate that the Migration Working Group meetings will take place in hybrid format (in line with Ryerson University regulations and procedures for the Fall 2021 term and all succeeding terms). Given this hybrid format, there may be all virtual and all in-person meetings, or in-person meetings, which accommodate remote presentations. 

Please note, CERC Migration may provide a small travel support fund to presenters who come from outside the greater Toronto metropolitan area.
