Fundamentals in Midwifery Care II

This course offers weekly online tutorials delivered synchronously with clinical placement(s). Content builds on MWF 121 and continues to develop foundational knowledge and skills for midwives as primary care providers. The focus is on assessment, decision-making, care planning, and implementation in intrapartum care and common situations that involve collaboration with other healthcare providers. This course expands on themes of reflective practice and lifelong learning, communication, advocacy, health equity, cultural humility, ethics, and quality and safety in health care. Clinical placements are in midwifery and/or interprofessional practice settings. Available only to Midwifery students. This course is graded on a pass/fail basis. See teaching department for consent criteria.
