This event gives future applicants for PhDs in engineering—as well as current students and the general public—insights into new career opportunities that are open to PhDs. The event is moderated by Dr. Emily Moore, the managing director of water and the natural environment at Hatch, and features the following panel members who will speak to how completing their PhDs at Ryerson prepared them for their current careers:

  • Post-Doctoral Fellow at the University of Toronto Dr. Anthony Lombardi (Mechanical and Industrial Engineering)
  • Post-Doctoral Fellow at the University of Toronto Dr. Rafael Bezerra Oliveira (Electrical and Computer Engineering)
  • Human Factors Consultant for SNC-Lavalin, Rail and Transit, Dr. Judy Village, PhD (Mechanical and Industrial Engineering)
  • United Therapeutics Corporation and Founder of Artin Biomed, Dr. Samin Eftekhari, PhD (Chemical Engineering)

Life After PhD is presented by the Faculty of Engineering and Architectural Science in collaboration with the Yeates School of Graduate Studies.
