Aayaz Pira

Aayaz Pira is the President of CTFS (Canadian Tire Financial Services) and President & CEO Canadian Tire Bank.  Aayaz’s experience has been focused on building new businesses, leading organizational transformation and developing talent of the future across all his professional roles.

At CIBC, Aayaz was overseeing all things digital for the bank including client experience, digital innovation, digital sales and digital banking. Under Aayaz’s leadership, CIBC has been recognized as the top Canadian mobile bank in Canada for four consecutive years by Forrester Research. In addition, CIBC Digital has become a beacon for innovation and talent in the Canadian digital ecosystem as evidenced by its multiple first to market mobile innovations, its recognition as the Canadian Innovator of the year by the Digital Finance Institute and CIBC Digital’s ranking as one of the top Canadian employers for millennials in Canada. In 2017, Aayaz was recognized as one of five global Digital Bankers of the Year by American Banker.

Aayaz holds an MBA from the Queen’s School of Business, is a Certified Outsourcing Professional and has a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Information Technology Management. As a community ambassador, Aayaz is an active startup mentor at the MaRS Discovery District, a recognized Canadian digital thought leader and recently served as the Chairperson for the Aga Khan Economic Planning Board in Ontario.
