Message from the Dean
Welcome to the Faculty of Science at Ryerson University.
This year, we’ve faced unprecedented challenges throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. But our strength has always been our people, and I am truly amazed and inspired by their caliber and resilience. Professors, staff and students have continued to show a collective passion for science that is breathtaking.
We have been creating a paradigm shift in STEM learning. Our new Ryerson Augmented Learning Experience (RALE) platform could change pedagogy forever. No matter where students are, we are now beaming virtual lab experiences directly to their computers and mobile devices. Just one of the ways we’re surmounting difficulties to champion authentic science experiences.
We also forge ahead with construction plans for the Science Discovery Complex at 202 Jarvis Street. In this new, ultramodern facility, we envision reaching even greater heights of scientific research, collaboration and creativity. Thank you to our alumni and friends for your ongoing support and generosity. We are deeply appreciative.
Meanwhile, our passion for science continues to cross from research groups into our educational endeavors and community. Whether it’s exploring artificial intelligence, the beauty of geometry, microbubbles as medical treatments, or our precious water supply, our faculty, researchers and students are curious and exploratory.
As we strive to honor the land and its traditional keepers in all of our practices, I encourage you to join us in spreading the light of scientific discovery far and wide.
Dean, Faculty of Science
