Awards & Scholarships

The students at the Ted Rogers School of Management at Ryerson University continue to inspire staff and faculty with their drive to create, innovate and succeed. To recognize student excellence, Ted Rogers School of Management and Ryerson offers many awards and scholarships to undergraduate and graduate students. Students are eligible at several levels: faculty-wide, program-specific and university-wide awards. The Dean's List recognizes our undergraduate students' exceptional academic achievement for the Fall and Winter semesters within an academic year.

School of Business Management Entrance Award Up to $1300 For a student entering the full-time program in the Ted Rogers School Business Management program with strong academic performance, demonstration of community achievements and financial need.
Arthur Lee Family School of Business Management Award Up to $4700 Open to Ontario-resident students who are entering first year of the Business Management program with a grade of 12U/M average of 80% and demonstrated financial need.
The Manulife Financial Entrance Award for Community Two(2) awards up to $4600 each To a full-time Business Management student entering the first year with a minimum average of 80% in 6 Grade 12 U/M or equivalent courses. Preference will be given to students whose primary residency is in the St. James Town area. Must be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident, or a protected person and an Ontario resident. Must write a 500 word essay describing why you are an ideal candidate.
Harold and Norma Kamin Entrance Award Up to $1100 To a full-time or part-time student entering the Ted Rogers School of Business Management with a minimum final overall high school average of 70% or better, worked gainfully and/or has pursued entrepreneurial venture(s) and/or contributed into volunteer activities in the community or abroad, within three years of graduation from high school and the time entering the Ted Rogers School of Business Management. Has an interest in entrepreneurship or retailing or real estate.

Frances Lloyd Memorial Award Up to $470 To a full-time student who has completed second year with a minimum GPA of 3.0, has shown the greatest improvement in GPA from first year and who is not receiving another student award.
John J. Rieschi Memorial Scholarship Up to $1200 To a full-time student with the highest cumulative grade point average on completion of the first three years of the Business Management degree and undertaking a full (minimum 80% course load) in the fourth year of the program at the time of the award presentation.
TRSBM Academic Achievement Award Up to $1000 To a full-time student who has completed third year and is entering fourth year in the Ted Rogers School of Business Management, who has the most improved CGPA at the end of third year as compared to the end of first year. Demonstrates achievement in personal, academic and professional success during their undergraduate studies.
James R. Bullock Award Up to $1400 Outstanding academic achievement by a full-time student upon completion of the first year of the program. Demonstrated financial need.

Entrepreneurial Excellence Award Up to $500 To a full-time undergraduate Ted Rogers School of Business Management student majoring in Entrepreneurship demonstrating academic excellence and leadership; must have clear academic standing and achieve a minimum course grade of 3.33 (B+) in ENT 56A/B Entrepreneurial Skills Development.
Adrian Hordyk Award Up to $1000 In memory of Mr. Adrian Hordyk, the award will be awarded to a full-time student in the Entrepreneurship major, who has completed the third year of the Entrepreneurship program, achieved a minimum CGPA of 3.00, and has demonstrated an entrepreneurial spirit and a concern for helping others through activities on campus and in the community. The applicant can not be receiving other external awards.
The Aditya Ja Entrepreneurship Award Up to $3600 To one full-time undergraduate student enrolled in their second, third, or fourh year of study in the Ted Rogers School of Business Management, majoring in Entrepreneurship, having achieved a CGPA of 3.00 and demonstrated a commitment to entrepreneurship; is a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person and an Ontario resident, and demonstrated financial need.
CIBPA Toronto/Ralph and Rose Chiodo Award in Entrepreneurship Up to $2200 Full-time student in the Ted Rogers School of Business Management who has completed their third year as an Entrepreneurship Major, and must demonstrate financial need, be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident or protected person, be an Ontario resident and demonstrate academic standing with a minimum CGPA 2.67 at the end of third year. 
Brian William Chant Award Two(2) awards up to $4300 To a full-time undergraduate student in the Ted Rogers School of Business Management enrolled in third year majoring in Entrepreneurship, with a minimum CGPA of 3.00 or higher, demonstrate financial need, and demonstrate impact, involvement, and leadership in a Ted Rogers School of Management club, society, association, or group.
The Grant Family Entrepreneurship Award Up to $1000 To a full-time undergraduate student in the Ted Rogers School of Business Management enrolled in 2nd, 3rd or 4th year majoring in Entrepreneurship, with a minimum CGPA of 3.33 or higher, active participant in Ryerson's entrepreneurial ecosystem. Must have completed ENT 56AB Entrepreneurship Skills Development (or equivalent) and achieved minimum 3.33 (B+) grade in the course.

Norman and Stella Eversfield Award in Global Management Studies - 3rd Year Up to $1100 To a full-time fourth year Global Management Studies major student in the Ted Rogers School of Business Management, who had at the end of third year a minimum 3.50 CGPA and demonstrates financial need.
Norman and Stella Eversfield Student Engagement Award in Global Management Studies Up to $1100 To a full-time fourth year Global Management Studies major student in the Ted Rogers School of Business Management, who had at the end of third year a minimum 3.30 CGPA and who has been involved in student activities related to Global Management including the Ryerson Global Management Group and demonstrates financial need.
Sam Sniderman Award Up to $2700 To a student in the Management and Enterprise Development Major who has demonstrated academic excellence, entrepreneurship flare, Canadian citizen/permanent resident; Ontario resident; and demonstrated financial need.
Don McCutchan Excellence Award Two(2) awards up to $2000 Created in honour of Don McCutchan, this award will recognize excellence, outstanding leadership qualities and academic achievement in undergraduate students enrolled in the Global Management Studies Program at  the Ted Rogers School of Business Management.

Norman and Stella Eversfield Award in Human Resource Management and Organizational Behavior- 4th Year Up to $2100 To a full-time fourth year Human Resource Management major student in the Ted Rogers School of Business Management, who had the greatest increase in CGPA from second year to third year and demonstrates financial need.
Norman and Stella Eversfield Student Engagement Award in Human Resource Management Up to $2100 To a full-time third or fourth year Human Resource Management major student in the Ted Rogers School of Business Management, who had a minimum CGPA of 2.67 at the end of second or third year and demonstrate student engagement through involvement in student activities related to the field of Human Resources, including involvement in student groups, course unions, case competitions etc., or in external activities such as involvement in the Human Resources Professionals Association and demonstrates financial need.
Marc Viola Human Resources Award $1000 To a full-time student Human Resource Management/Organizational Behaviour major currently completing second year and going into third year or a Direct Entry student who has achieved academic excellence and community engagement in prior years either at Ryerson or at College. Students must have achieved academic and community excellence prior to applying for the award.
GTA Rewards Award Two awards
up to $1500 each
To a full time third or fourth year Human Resource Management major who has demonstrated academic excellence in compensation management (MHR749) and has an understanding of the strategic importance of total rewards in organizations. Must have a minimum CGPA of 3.0; a minimum grade of 3.0 in compensation management (MHR 749).
GTA Rewards Association, Harold Gershman Award Up to $1500 each To a full time third or fourth year Human Resource Management major who has demonstrated academic excellence in compensation management (MHR749) and has an understanding of the strategic importance of total rewards in organizations. Must have a minimum CGPA of 3.0; a minimum grade of 3.0 in compensation management (MHR 749).

Law and Business Faculty Award Up to $1000 The Law and Business Faculty Award in the Ted Rogers School of Business Management will be awarded to a student in the Law and Business major, who has completed the third year of the Law and Business program and is currently enrolled as  a Law and Business major student, achieved a minimum CGPA of 3.33 at the moment of the submission of the application for the award and has demonstrated leadership and service to Law and Business Student Association and/or Law and Business students, and/or Department of Law and Business.
The General Counsel and Secretary of the Board of Governors Scholarship in Law and Governance Up to $1000 Awarded to a full-time student in the Ted Rogers School of Business Management program currently enrolled in the Law and Business major with the highest grade in LAW 604–Legal Foundations of Corporate Governance in the last academic year.
David Miller Award in Law and Business Two(2) awards Up to $2500 David Miller retired from Rogers Communications in December 2018 having served as the company's Chief Legal and Corporate Affairs Officer. In recognition of his dedicated service and valuable contributions over his 30 year career at the company, Rogers Communications has supported an award in his name at the Ted Rogers School of Management. This will be awarded to two students currently in the Law and Business major, with a minimum CGPA of 3.0. Student must demonstrate financial need and submit a written statement that speaks to the activities they are involved in.
Law and Business Advisory Council Award Up to $2000 The Ted Rogers School of Management Law and Business Advisory Council members created this award to recognize a TRSM student majoring in Law and Business who is working (part-time or full-time) while studying.
Omar Khilo Law and Business Award Up to $500 TRSM Law and Business '15 alumnus Omar Khilo created this award to recognize a Ted Rogers School of Business Management student majoring in Law and Business who has demonstrated community involvement.

Ray Young Marketing Award Up to $1000 This award is for a Marketing student having the best aggregate performance in the following Marketing courses: Marketing II (MKT 200) or Marketing Metrics and Analysis (MKT 300), and Consumer Behaviour (MKT 502) or Understanding Consumers and the New Media (MKT 400).
Norman and Stella Eversfield Award in Marketing Up to $1100 To a full-time fourth year Marketing major student in the Ted Rogers School of Business Management, who had at the end of third year a minimum 3.50 CGPA and demonstrates financial need.
Ken and Julia Romanowski Marketing Award Up to $1200 This award is for an Undergraduate, full-time student in the Ted Rogers School of Business Management in Marketing major entering second year, third year or fourth year. Demonstrates financial need and has a minimum CGPA of 3.00  with Clear academic standing.

A Written Statement (approximately 300 words) detailing past leadership experience or community involvement is required.
Melanie Dempsey Memorial Award in Marketing Up to $2000 This award is set up in honour of Dr. Melanie Dempsey. Through her tenure at Ted Rogers School of Management, Melanie Dempsey's passion for teaching had a great impact on her students not only as a professor, but as a mentor, advisor and through her unwavering dedication to her students. This award is for a full-time student in the third or fourth year of the Marketing major who has achieved excellence in spite of personal challenges or adversities.

BOMA Toronto Award Real Estate Management Up to $1600 To a full-time business management student entering their second year in the Real Estate Management major. Must have a minimum CGPA of 3.00 (B), maintain a minimum course load of four (4) in the Fall and Winter terms and demonstrate financial need. The recipient will continue to receive the award in each subsequent year of the Real Estate Management program upon entering third and fourth year, conditional upon maintaining a CGPA of 3.00 (B) and a minimum course load of four (4) in the Fall and Winter terms.
Peter Sharpe Program Awards Minimum five(5) awards up to $7400 each

To a full time student who has completed their first year of full time study in the Ted Rogers School of Business Management, with the required courses and have declared a Real Estate Management major and must:Be a Canadian citizen, a Permanent Resident or a Protected Person; Be an Ontario resident; Demonstrates financial need, Demonstrates academic achievement with a minimum CGPA of 3.50 at the end of the first year with clear academic standing.

Students may receive only two Peter Sharpe Awards in addition to the renewable award in any year.

Peter Sharpe Renewable award Up to $6000

To a student who has completed their first year of full time study in the Ted Rogers School of Business Management, with the required common courses, and have declared a Real Estate Management major and must be a Canadian Citizen a Permanent Resident or a Protected person; Be an Ontario resident; Demonstrates financial need, Demonstrates academic achievement with a minimum CGPA of 3.50 at the end of the first year with clear academic standing; Renewable if a CGPA of 3.30 is attained and clear academic standing maintained at the end of second year and third year as a declared Real Estate Management Major enrolled full-time. 

Students may receive only two Peter Sharpe Awards in addition to the renewable award in any year.

Peter Sharpe Course Awards  Five(5) awards up to $6000 each

To a full-time student in the Ted Rogers School of Business Management who has completed their second year of study as a Real Estate Management major and must: Be a Canadian Citizen, A Permanent Resident or a Protected Person; Be an Ontario resident. Demonstrate financial need and academic achievement through the highest grade in: REM 300, REM 400, and REM 420, REM 500 and REM 520.

Students may receive only two Peter Sharpe Awards in addition to the renewable award in any year.

Peter Sharpe Student Engagement Academic Award Up to $6000

To a full-time student in the Ted Rogers School of Business Management who has completed their third year as a Real Estate Management Major. Must be a Canadian Citizen, a Permanent Resident or a Protected Person; Be an Ontario Resident. Demonstrate financial need, Demonstrate academic achievement with a minimum CGPA of 3.30 at the end of third year with clear academic standing. Demonstrate student engagement through involvement in student activities related to real estate management including student groups or course unions, case competitions or external activities in the field. Provide a one page letter outlining how they meet the above criteria and demonstrating their interest in the field of Real Estate Management.  

Students may receive only two Peter Sharpe Awards in addition to the renewable award in any year.

Peter Sharpe Academic Awards Two(2) awards up to $6100 each To  a full-time student in the Ted Rogers School of Business Management who has completed their second year as a Real Estate Management Major(one award) or must have completed third year as a Real Estate Management major (one award) Must be a Canadian Citizen, A Permanent Resident or a Protected Person; Be an Ontario Resident; Must demonstrate financial need, and must demonstrate academic achievement with a minimum CGPA of 3.50 at the end of second or third year. Students may receive only two Peter Sharpe Awards in addition to the renewable award in any year.
ICSC Foundation Canada John and Kim Morrison Family Foundation Scholarship
Up to $7500

This award is for a full-time undergraduate student in the Ted Rogers School of Management in the Real Estate Management major entering their final year of study demonstrating academic excellence, minimum CGPA of 3.00, have clear academic standing, demonstrates leadership through contributions of time and talent in local and school communities.

Leadership ability will be evaluated based on a 300 word (maximum) essay describing their leadership contribution. Applications for this scholarship are solicited in the Winter term, with selection made in April/May each year.

In addition to the financial award, the following non-monetary benefits will be available to the recipient: one-year ICSC student membership subject to ICSC’s Membership Terms and Conditions; an ISCC mentor; and an all-expenses paid trip to the annual ICSC Canadian Convention.

Ronald H. Otis Award in Real Estate Five(5) awards up to $5000 each

This award is for a full-time undergraduate student in the Ted Rogers School of Business Management in the Real Estate Management major entering second year of study with clear academic standing. Demonstrates financial need and academic excellence. 

This award is renewable for the recipient who had the highest CGPA if a minimum CGPA of 2.67 is maintained and demonstrates financial need.

The Minto Real Estate Management Sustainability Award Up to $2500 This award is to support a student who exemplifies exceptional course work in REM 420 - Sustainability in Real Estate.
The Minto Real Estate Management Sustainability Scholarship Up to $2500 This award is to support a student who has the highest grade in REM 420.
JLL Women in Real Estate Award Up to $3000

JLL Canada created this award to recognize and support women in real estate. This award recognizes a Ted Rogers School of Management female student majoring in Real Estate Management who demonstrates leadership through involvement in the community.

Chantal (Hall) Skinner Award Up to $670 Academic excellence in either third or fourth year in any major, with an emphasis on consulting, leadership or marketing.
Kucher Award for Overall Excellence Up to $1250 To a student who has completed second year and is registered as a full-time third year student, in good academic standing with a minimum CGPA of 3.0, and involved in extra curricular activities with Ryerson or the community-at-large with evidence of leadership abilities.
HSBC Bank Canada Business Awards Seven(7) awards up to $5900 each To one undergraduate student in the Ted Rogers Business Management Program in each of the seven majors who has completed second or third year with a minimum Cumulative GPA of 3.00, Ontario residency status and financial need and who has demonstrated leadership inside or outside of the Ryerson community, by participating in extra-curricular activities.
Martha G. Billes Award Seven(7) awards up to $3200 each To one or more full-time undergraduate second, third, or fourh year students for academic achievement, Cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher, and extra-curricular involvement in the school and/or community and demonstrated financial need.

Beverly Mascoll Award Up to $1400 To recognize a black female student in the first or second year of studies who exemplifies commitment to community service and demonstrated interest in entrepreneurship. Academic merit may also be considered.
Joey and Toby Tanenbaum Business Scholarships Seven(7) awards up to $12,942 each To one full-time student in each of the seven majors in the Ted Rogers Business Management program entering second, third, or fourh year with a minimum Cumulative grade point average of 3.33, Ontario residency status, and demonstrated financial need. Must submit a 500-word essay demonstrating their service to the Ryerson community, as well as how this scholarship will make a difference to their education.
Joey and Toby Tanenbaum Award of Distinction for Excellence Up to $20,000 To a full-time student in the Ted Rogers Business Management Program entering second, third, or fourh year with a minimum Cumulative grade point average of 3.67, Ontario residency status, demonstrated financial need, demonstrated commitment to the Ryerson community and beyond. Must submit a 750-word essay demonstrating their service to the Ryerson community and beyond. Must also submit a letter of support documenting community service.
Dom Petruccelli Award Up to $1000 To a student in good academic standing with an interest in entrepreneurship and the ability to succeed in entrepreneurial endeavors.

Students admitted to the Ted Rogers School of Business Management for Fall 2020 through the Direct Entry/Degree Program for College graduates are not eligible to apply for awards until they are in their final year of the program.
