Get Your Card

In light of COVID-19, we are only able to issue Faculty and Staff OneCards on a case-by-case basis. To determine if you are eligible to pick-up your employee OneCard, please refer to step 2 under the new employees section of this page.

If you are a new employee to Ryerson, learn how you can get your Faculty and Staff OneCard.

If you are an existing employee who has lost their OneCard, visit the Replace Your Card page and follow the instructions.

New employees

Step 1: Contact HR Client Services to obtain your employee number

For hiring that is completed through HR, you will receive your employee number in the welcome email that is sent by the HR partner assisting with the hire.

Otherwise, you can contact HR Client Services to obtain your employee number.

Step 2: Pick up your OneCard if you are currently working on campus

Ryerson employees who require a new or replacement OneCard to access campus buildings during the fall 2020 semester may request to pick up their OneCard by emailing onecardbookings@ryerson.ca. Employees who will not be regularly coming to campus should not request to pick up their OneCard at this time.

Note: If you have a physical card but it is not granting you access to buildings on campus, please email onecard@ryerson.ca. In many cases, issues related to building and door access can be resolved remotely and do not require you to visit the OneCard Office.

Card distribution dates and times

OneCard distribution will be available Monday to Friday in POD-52A beginning August 31 at the following times:

Day of the week: Hours of operation:
Monday - Friday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

How to pick-up your card

If you require your OneCard during the fall 2020 semester, you may request to pick it up from campus by emailing onecardbookings@ryerson.ca and explaining why you require your physical OneCard. Please provide two preferred card pick-up dates and times in your email.

If you are approved to pick-up your OneCard, you will be assigned a date and time to pick-up your OneCard from POD-52A.

Accessing POD-52A

To access POD-52A, please approach the Library Building entrance on Nelson Mandela Walk and press the intercom to be connected to staff from Community Safety and Security. Inform them that you are here to pick-up your employee OneCard and you will be buzzed in. Please be advised that employees are required to wear a mask when entering campus buildings.

When you arrive at POD-52A, please join the queue outside the door and maintain physical distancing between yourself and other employees. A OneCard staff member will inform you when it is your turn to enter POD-52A.

Once you are allowed to enter POD-52A, please approach the desk and provide OneCard staff with your full name, employee number and reason for picking up your OneCard. A OneCard staff member will then provide you with your OneCard. You will be required to exit POD-52A immediately upon receiving your OneCard.

Accommodations for employees wearing face coverings

OneCard photos require your full face to be clearly visible in your photo as this is the university's official method of identification. However, in line with our commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion, we want to be able to accommodate community members who wear a religious head covering (e.g., a veil or niqab). Please contact the OneCard office to connect with a female staff member who can assist you through the process. Please see below for details.

The female staff member will require two photos (one with head covering and one without). The photo of you wearing your head covering will be used for your OneCard. If you are concerned about who will have access to your unveiled photo, please email onecard@ryerson.ca and we will arrange for you to submit a photo of yourself without your face covered to a female staff member.

Accommodations for trans employees

If you are an employee who is transitioning and would like to know more about this process, please visit Human Resources: Gender Transitioning. Contact your HR partner who can help you through every step of the process, including get a new OneCard.

Have you lost your OneCard?

If you have lost your OneCard, the first step is to report it to the OneCard Office as soon as possible. Visit the Replace Your Card page and follow the instructions.
