Replace Your Card

In light of COVID-19, we are only able to issue replacement Faculty and Staff OneCards on a case-by-case basis. To determine if you are eligible to pick-up your replacement employee OneCard, please refer to the how to replace your card section of this page.

Your Ryerson OneCard is your single most important piece of identification while at the university. If your card is lost, stolen or damaged, you will be responsible for the cost to replace the card. This includes if you damage the card by punching a hole in it, wash it or knowingly scratch it.


In order to be eligible for a replacement OneCard, faculty and staff must have an active contract.

How to replace your card

If you lose your OneCard, it is critical that you report it lost or stolen as soon as possible. You are responsible for any unauthorized transactions resulting from the theft or loss of your card.

Act fast to protect the funds on your card

You are responsible for any unauthorized transactions resulting from the theft or loss of your card. If you are able to deactivate your card quickly enough before someone else uses it, you won’t lose the money on it. 

As such, it’s important for you to report your OneCard missing as soon as you notice it is gone. Once it's deactivated, the funds on your card are protected and can be transferred to a new card.

Notification occurs once you have reported your lost/stolen card to the OneCard office, at which point it will be deactivated.

After you have reported your OneCard lost of stolen, you should get a replacement. You will be responsible for the cost to replace the card. This includes if you damage the card by punching a hole in it, wash it or knowingly scratch it.

Replacement costs

The costs associated with replacing your card are as follows:

Ryerson employees who require a replacement OneCard to access campus buildings during the winter 2021 semester may request to pick up their OneCard by emailing Employees who will not be regularly coming to campus should not request to pick up their OneCard at this time.

Note: If you have a physical card but it is not granting you access to buildings on campus, please email In many cases, issues related to building and door access can be resolved remotely and do not require you to visit the OneCard Office.

Card distribution dates and times

OneCard distribution will be available Monday to Friday in POD-52A beginning December 1 at the following times:

How to pick-up your card

If you require your OneCard during the winter 2021 semester, you may request to pick it up from campus by emailing and explaining why you require your physical OneCard. Please provide two preferred card pick-up dates and times in your email.

If you are approved to pick-up your OneCard, you will be assigned a date and time to pick-up your OneCard from POD-52A.

Accessing POD-52A

To access POD-52A, please approach the Library Building entrance on Nelson Mandela Walk and press the intercom to be connected to staff from Community Safety and Security. Inform them that you are here to pick-up your employee OneCard and you will be buzzed in. Please be advised that employees are required to wear a mask when entering campus buildings.

When you arrive at POD-52A, please join the queue outside the door and maintain physical distancing between yourself and other employees. A OneCard staff member will inform you when it is your turn to enter POD-52A.

Once you are allowed to enter POD-52A, please approach the desk and provide OneCard staff with your full name, employee number and reason for picking up your OneCard. A OneCard staff member will then provide you with your OneCard. You will be required to exit POD-52A immediately upon receiving your OneCard.

Replacement cards are final sale

Replacement cards are final sale. There will be no refunds for replacement cards. Once a card is cancelled, it cannot be activated for any reason, even if you find it after replacing it.
