CCS Scheduled Maintenance and Outages

Preventative Maintenance includes a variety of activities necessary to keep information and technology services running, such as software patches, fixes and upgrades, hardware upgrade. Additional outages may occur as a result of unforeseen hardware or software issues. In these cases, CCS strives to provide as much notice as possible.

No alternate service will be available if a system or an application is not available due to the scheduled maintenance or outage, unless explicitly indicated in the table below for the particular system/application.

  • Wednesday, May 27, 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. 
    Updating XMedius server.
    User Impact: All XMedius users will be affected. Outage should be no more than 15 minutes.
  • Friday, May 29, 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.
    Upgrading WordPress.
    User Impact: The blog.ryerson.ca network will be unavailable briefly (<10 minutes) while the application updates during this period. Subsequently, each blog will experience a brief (<1minute) outage as it is upgraded.
  • Friday, May 29, 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.
    Upgrading network switches in buildings: AOB/CED/POD/SLC.
    User Impact: Phones/workstations/devices will loose connectivity for approximately 5 min during this period.
  • Friday, May 29, 6:30 a.m. - 7:30 a.m.
    Upgrading network hardware.
    User Impact: None expected. Long lived connections might get disconnected.   
  • Friday, May 29, 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 a.m.
    Upgrading Enterprise Hub.
    User Impact: Services provided by Enterprise Hub and Application Hub will not be available during the upgrade. 
  • Friday, May 29, 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
    Updating ANSYS licensing.
    User Impact: No access to ANSYS during this period.
  • Tuesday, June 2, 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
    Upgrading Oracle database server.
    User Impact: No access to all applications having URL:
    *.apps.ccs.ryerson.ca
    *.cf.ccs.ryerson.ca
    Examples: Faculty Course Survey, ColdFusion apps, TAI etc.
  • Friday, June 5, 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. 
    Updating software for RMS applications.
    User Impact: Access to Activation, Self Serve and Administration will be intermittent during the update.
  • Sunday, June 7, 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. 
    Updating RAMSS.
    User Impact: RAMSS will not be available.
