GMS Professor Dr. Ojelanki Ngwenyama receives AIS Fellow Award

Congratulations to Dr. Ojelanki Ngwenyama, Global Management Studies Professor at the Ted Rogers School of Management, for receiving a 2021 Association for Information Systems (AIS) Fellow Award (external link, opens in new window) 

This award, reserved for only a small number of people, is in recognition of all of the valuable contributions Dr. Ngwenyama has made to AIS and to the field of information systems during his distinguished career.

Dr. Ngwenyama, who is also the Director of the Institute for Innovation and Technology Management at the Ted Rogers School, is a critical social scientist who studies digital technology and social organization. He is a member of the Academy of Science of South Africa, Emeritus Professor of Information Systems at the University of Cape Town and a regular Visiting Professor at Université de Nantes and University of Münster. He has also been a Docent at University of Jyväskylä since 1996.

In addition, Dr. Ngwenyama is a member of the International Federation for Information Processing Working Group 8.2, which focuses on the development and use of information technologies in organizational contexts, and served as organizing, program and general chair for several conferences. He has published more than 85 research articles in journals, and supervised more than 30 PhD students in North America, Europe, Africa and the Caribbean as well. 

Dr. Ngwenyama was presented his AIS Fellow Award at the International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS) in Austin, Texas on December 13, 2021.
