Ryerson University continues to monitor the impacts of COVID-19 on convocation. Ceremonies are postponed until it is permitted to safely hold large public gatherings again. Please refer to the Graduation and Convocation section of Ryerson’s central COVID-19 website as this situation continues to evolve.
Faculty members are encouraged to join the Academic Procession for their program’s convocation ceremony. Sign-up is currently closed. Please check back in June for more information.
For information regarding Marshalling and Regalia, see below.
Academic regalia is required for all Academic Procession participants.
If you do not have your own regalia, black academic gowns will be supplied by the university. On the day of your ceremony, these gowns will be available on the third floor (MAC 3319) of the Mattamy Athletic Centre , opens in new window. Give yourself enough time to sign-out your gown and be in the marshalling area in time.
There will be coatracks provided, however, this is in an area that cannot be secured, so please leave all valuables in your office.
Academic hoods are the responsibility of the individual faculty member. If you would like to wear a hood you can purchase one at harcourts.com, external link, opens in new window. Wearing a hood is not required but does add to the “splendour” of the Academic Procession.
