Maayan is so excited about creating a more accessible world. Living with Muscular Dystrophy, she knows the struggles. She is a passionate, relentless advocate who stops at nothing to shake up the status quo. A Public Policy Forum Award recipient, Maayan is building awareness about the importance of access for all.

Eric McCormack (Theatre '85)

Eric was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario. He spent three years at the Ryerson Theater School in Toronto and went on to spend five seasons with Canada's Stratford Festival - he graduated 'lead' status in such stage classics as "A Midsummer Night's Dream", "Henry V" and "The Three Sisters". Eric then moved to Vancouver, British Columbia, where he also moved into television and stared in "Will & Grace".

Zanele Muholi (Documentary Media MFA'13)

A photographer and self-proclaimed visual activist, Zanele Muholi explores black lesbian and gay identities and politics in contemporary South Africa. For their series “Faces and Phases” (2006-11), Muholi photographed more than 200 portraits of South Africa’s lesbian community.

“The portraits are at once a visual statement and an archive,” they have said, “marking, mapping, and preserving an often invisible community for posterity.” Muholi’s sensitive portraits challenge the stigma surrounding gays and lesbians in South Africa.

Jasmin Mozaffari (IMA '13)

Jasmin graduated in 2013 from Ryerson University's acclaimed Film Studies program. She first found success with her fourth year thesis film, FIRECRACKERS (2013), which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and went on to screen at numerous festivals around the world including the Vancouver International Film Festival and the Munich International Festival of Film Schools. Firecrackers was subsequently licensed to the CBC for broadcast

The film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2018 to great acclaim, with the Toronto Star calling it “one of the best Canadian films in years.”
